Biography:
Hit-Girl, real name Mindy McCready, is a fictional vigilante character featured in the Kick-Ass comic book series and films. Created by Mark Millar and John Romita Jr., she debuted in Kick-Ass #1 in 2008.
Mindy is the daughter of Damon McCready, also known as Big Daddy. Trained from a young age in various forms of combat, weaponry, and martial arts by her father, she becomes a highly skilled and brutally effective crime fighter.
Her persona, Hit-Girl, is a juxtaposition of her age and her lethal abilities. Often using colorful language and clad in a distinctive purple wig and schoolgirl outfit (a practical disguise, not a sexualization), she is known for her extreme violence and unwavering dedication to justice, however warped that justice may be.
In the films, Hit-Girl is portrayed by Chloë Grace Moretz. She serves as a stark contrast to the amateur superhero Kick-Ass, and her skills are often instrumental in saving him and defeating their enemies. The character has been praised for her action sequences and criticized for the graphic violence associated with a child.
